Please help --- toic color change?

Greetings
I'm back again to ask more questions regarding my IBD- exposed normal Columbian red-tail born Feb 2,2008. I'd appreciate any information you're able to give-- sorry, it is a long post.

Brigid (still haven't had her sexed--still presume she's female) is actively eating twice a week: 2 rat pinkies for one feeding and 1 rat pinky and 1 fuzzy mouse for the other (all F/T). She used to be slow to eat, but since the beginning of this month, she's been quick to strike at one if not both of her prey. She was only pooping once or twice a month before, but since a REALLY big dump on 6/5, she's pooped smaller amounts three times since.
That's the background, here's the Q:

Four days ago when I took her out, she had considerably darkened---to the point where I thought that her "clean" head was starting to look "dirty" with dark scales and that despite all the beautiful pink she's been taking on, that now she was thinking of taking on some of her father's more hypermelanistic traits. I hadn't had her out in three days before that, and when I palpated her, there was definitely something to be passed. She passed some poop and greenish urates that night, and when I looked at her again last night, she was back to normal pinkish. She proceeded to pass more poop and urates the next day.
She stayed normal until this morning, when she is AGAIN dark. This is NOT shed-related, but I'm wondering if it's "poop-related"--is that possible? If so, could it have been due to some waste product she passed?

I'm scared that IBD may be kicking in and we'll have to put this baby down. If anyone has heard of or seen anything like this, please let me know?

First off its "nothing" IBD related
What you described is perfectly normal boa behavior.
The color changes can be caused any of a number of things, boa's have mood swings caused by several things.
Contentment
Hungry
Alarmed
Temperature spikes(to hot/to cool)
Alarmed/Stressed
Starting shed cycles(PMS= the week before the week before)

As well as "Anything" in between! So ease up on the self induced stress and enjoy your boa

I really hope you're right We didn't keep our baby boas, and I'd never seen this happen in our adults. I didn't know a color change could be normal.
