Kink tail ??

Frank_S Sep 02, 2003 12:03 PM

I have been reading all the posts on kinked tails and I had a question.
I have seen with other reptiles that temp. during incubation can cause kinks as well as genetics. For instance a pair of king cobras had a clutch of mostly kinked tails one year these snakes were not inbreed the next years clutch their were no kinks. The first year their was temp. bouncing and the second year the temp stayed stable. I am wondering has their been any studies done to prove that some kinks are not temp related in Leos I know allot of people mess with the temp to try to get certain sexes.
Just a thought

Are you talking about where the shed at the end of the tail is still present about mid way?

That does not look like a kink to me. It looks like a physical injury. Possibly retained shed at some time in the past?

Is not of a kink. Just a pic of one of my gals sheding that I thought I would add on.
