stripe creams

draybar Jun 29, 2008 01:06 PM

I didn't get new pictures but today was feeding day for the new stripe cream hatchlings. They had all shed as of yesterday so I fed them with all the other snakes.
Well, seven of the nine ate f/t on their first feeding.
The other two are in the dark with their pinkies and hopefully in a couple of hours they will have eaten also.
The seven that did eat, ate within a bout 10 or 15 minutes.
Good sign.
On another note....My cinnamons are pipping...whoo whoo
I had planned to breed the female cinnamon to my male rootbeer (50/50 corn/meahlmorun)het hypo het amel.
But A&W (the rootbeer) took a three week vacation in the house.
He just happened to show up after everyone had bred.
So,I bred her to a good dependable male cinnamon (Toast) who was quite busy, this season, pairing with her and three other females.

those babies look nice!!! And i'm sure you'll have an extra watchful eye on the guy next year for breeding plans, huh?? Thats my biggest fear i think... loosing a breeder at breeding time... Theres a post in the mexicana kingsnake forum where someone left 2 tubs open at feeding time just to catch the ringing phone and when he came back both male and female were missing BUT breeding under the rack system!! Talk about unplanned breeding!! i thought it was funny...
I cant wait to see what the little TOASTettes look like hehehe

Well, I think I mentioned that they only gave me six good eggs but they are still looking good and I hope should start hatching towards the end of the week or early next week.
I can't wait to see how they look.
