First clutch of corn eggs- weird spotted

boxienuts Jun 29, 2008 08:55 PM

Woke up this morning to find that my triple het that was bred by the male triple hets had laid 11 eggs, that got me excited but then I looked into the tub with my anery motley female that was also bred by triple het and she was just starting to lay her first of 11 eggs. I guess the snake gods decided it was egg laying day at my house today, WOW!!! I was able to grab an egg every half hour mark it and put in substrate which was a nice way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Anyway one of the eggs from the triple het had orange spots on it and was separated from the rest of the clutch, has anyone seen this before? I am assuming the spotted was singled out because it is not a viable egg? please correct me if I am wrong.

I will try to candle, and take a pic for you to see, because I have seen picts but never done it so I'm not possitive what I am looking for. What would cause the orange spots? I don't think it's blood, it looks more like pigment.
Thanks for your help
