>>Hi, I've been browsing and reading this forum for a while now. I'm getting my first baby blood from High Plains Herpetoculture this week and have his setup all up and running. Before I get him though, I want to make sure that what I have is going to be good for him. I have a 15 gallon tank with a coconut fiber bedding to keep humidity up. The tank has been set up for a couple days now and the temps are pretty steady at 80-82 degrees and the humidity stays between 60-68%. Let me know of any suggestions you more experienced keepers may have. Here are some pics to get an idea of what's going on.

Personally I would toss the loose bedding. It is a pain to clean, collects bacteria, and newspaper is much easier. Of course that is just me. But I have noticed, for some reason, my blood urine seems either more in quantity or potency, so I find I do full paper changes more often with them. For some reason, I cant get away with just spot cleaning the blood and switching out the paper. I would think the coconut fiber would just suck this up.
Make sure the water bowl is big enough that the snake can totally fit in there. Mine like to soak for a period of time daily around 15 mins after they get their fresh water.
I would also suggest covering three sides to give more privacy. I have heard many of the experienced folks here comment that aquariums dont work well. I had mine all started in neodeshas that were about the size of a 10-15 gallon tank. So size wise I think you are probably ok. I have noticed that my bloods seem to prefer a more enclosed caging with tighter confines and I know others have commented on this as well.
Hope this gives you a start, but I am sure the more experienced blood keepers will chime in as well.
