Avg. size of mal cal king

jazzycat Sep 02, 2003 12:38 PM

I recently got a male cal king who was supposed to be 2 years old. To me he seems small for his age but I can't seem to find any information on how big he should be. He is 24" and weighs about 2 oz. Any information would be really appreciated.

I have a pair of young calis, born this year. One is 12 inches, the other is about 16. I hear they get anywhere from 3 to 5 feet in lenght. I dont have personal experience with age of older kings, but 24 inches sounds about right to me for a 2 or 3 yr old snake.

Actually, 24" is kinda small for a 2 year old. Mine hit 24" before they turned 1. My one male escaped from me when he was a few months old, and brumated in my basement for 5 months (didn't grow from the time he got out). He still got close to 24" by the time he was about a year old.
