Egg Question

shotgunzen Jun 30, 2008 12:06 PM

Greets All,

My first batch of woma eggs is nearing hatch time, and I've noticed a couple of them have an irregular, sort of translucent spot around an incho ro two in size. All the eggs are firm and otherwise healthy-looking (at least as far as I can tell, since they're clumped). Also, I candled the affected eggs yesterday and can clearly see a vascular supply, so I'm not to worried...but since I've not read anything about this before I figured I'd see what others thought

thanks,
David

David, to give any info we would need as much info as you can give and maybe a pic of the setup would help. How far along are they, what are they in. how many eggs are there, what temps, are they on a grating or in substrate?

If they are getting closer to hatching they should start sweating and you should be getting more condensation on the inside of the container. If the moisture is condensing on the lid and dripping onto the eggs that can give you the water spots and drown the egg if you don't correct the problem.

Give us some more info and a pic to help you.
Thanks Tom
