Can you feed california poppy's?

I read that california poppy's are a safe edible plant. Is that true? CAn I feed it to my new hermann's? Wanted to ask before feeding.

Regarding California poppies, I had tons of them growing in my yard and near the tortoise pens. They ate a relative few, petals mostly, they did not seem very impressed with them...
if you want to see him dance, offer yellow dandelions or hawksbit flowers! Good luck with your little guy, they are a funny and spunky breed I am told. vic h.

Thank you. The dandelions are here by the thousands. I have 6 acre lawn in the country no pesticides. So dandelions and plantain weeds are everywhere. Thanks.

As I peer out at this harsh desert I live in, I can't help but envy you with acres of dandelions. I think dandelions may be the single best food there is. I have to resort to some store bought this time of year, my garden is exhausted. vic h.
