My 2nd and last clutch this year...

RyanT Jul 01, 2008 09:35 PM

is hatching now. 4 eggs. I was waiting to find out if my Mojave or Cinny sired it. I was hoping for and expecting it to be the Mojave since I saw him locked up with the female many times, and the Cinny only once. Guess I'll never know though, since all 4 are NORMALS. Oh well, I'm outta room anyway. I really wanted a pair or at least 1 Mojave female though. No need for pics. I think everyone knows what normals look like.

But thanks for the condolences. I was just looking forward to a mojave or 2. But no use crying over spilled egg fluid. I prefer to always keep my collection under 20 animals, and now I'll be at...oh, 13, after all is said and done this season and I sell what I'm planning on getting rid of. Damnit! I have plenty of room for a couple Mojaves. Haha. Oh well, I'm takin next year off, so I guess the next time I get to be excited about eggs again will be in 2010.

I've bred 3 seasons now, 8 clutches and 48 eggs total. I'm freakin big time over here, ain't I? The odds break down like this:

2005 - 7 50% het albinos. (From 100% het albino x normal)
2007 - 10 Cinnies. 20 normals (From Cinny x normals)
2008 - 4 Cinnies. 3 normals. (From Cinny x normal)
4 normals (From Mojave x normal)

So my percentage of getting morphs from co-dom breedings is only 34% overall. Hope I get "caught-up" in 2010 when I'm breeding for super cinnies, pewters, and killer bees. Just thought it was kind of interesting to see how my entire breeding experience breaks down into odds.
