Sunday evening was fun in San Bernadino County.
I took the kids out just before dark and into the night.
In the early evening we observed a few Crevice Spiny's and varios other Lizards,Side Blothced and Fence lizards.
We also observed about 5 or 6 taranchulas and 15 toads and a Green Tree frog that was hopping across the road and there was not any visible water source close by.

Now to the Snakes.

1 Rosy Boa
2 Nignt Snakes
1 Cal King
2 Gopher snakes

It was a fun evening the tempeture was nice in the low 70's.

Are most of these juveniles or adults?

SoCalHerper Sep 08, 2003 01:13 PM

The Rosy was a Sub Adult Female.
Night snakes were adults, I didn't bother to sex them.
The Cal King was a 4 1/2 foot agressive male that was out running down Kangaroo Rats. We took analog pics of him
as he was looking down holes and crusing the roads.

The Gophers were 2 to 3 footers.

Sounds like everyone had fun, including the snakes.
