1st baby is out

imridethelghtng Jul 03, 2008 06:35 PM

its a normal havent sexed it yet.looks like i got 4 pastels 2 normals.i was really hoping for yellow bellies, since i lost mine in a house fire but nothing wrong with nice pastels.just wish they would come out.the first baby to pip was also the first one out.the others are just sitting there with their nose,at the split in the egg.Anyway good luck to everyone else. This is my first time breeding ball pythons.I could have done better, but i did ok.I hatched 6 out of 10 eggs 4 of which appear to be pastels. Not too bad for my first time incubating. just have to get a little more practice as time goes on

Here is the 1st baby out of the egg.Im thinking this one is a pastel. But its hard to tell.Female was bred to a pastel and a yb.I know you get part normals from this pairing. But female was not bred by any normals.

This is my first time hatching balls. This is the first one out of the egg. There are still 5 more babies.Hard to tell what they are.I guess its because they are new borns. This one just looked light in color.I have several normal balls that are older. All of those are alot darker than this newborn is.I probably should have started with something more dramatic. But dont have alot of money so pastels and yb is the way i had to go for now.Just cant wait till the rest of them come out.

Once they're all out of their eggs, you won't have any trouble telling the difference between the Pastels and the normals. Best of luck with them.

pastels are dramatic as babies. even ugly pastels are sooooooo easy to tell as babies. That is a very nice looking normal just hope it's a female so you can keep it and breed into pastels to make some screamers. pics are of pastel as baby (250ish grams) and what he looks like now.

Yea its a normal. Like the other person said just wait til there all out of the egg. Then you will be able to tell the difference. That normal looks good though. Nice and light with nice head blushing.
