I'm thinking that you might have a fire mojave there.

PeterRuegner Jul 04, 2008 07:35 PM

Kind of looks more like my Ember female, and less like the Sulfur female. Top two pics are Ember adult female, bottom pic is a baby pic of 05 Ember after its first shed.

I don't believe it's possible for both males to have fertilized a single egg-so no Fire mojave. But it does look like each male was able to father a portion of the clutch. That bottom snake does definitely look like a Fire, and the other looks ike some kind of aberrant mojave. It's possible the female has something going on, but not necessarily-I'm more inclined to think both babies can be explained by the father's codominant genes...

Hi not saying the males fathered the single egg. Both males sired the clutch.

Re-reading the original post it looks like if fire is in there (sure seems like it could) it's from the unproven mom. The males where yellow bell and mojave so there might be both fire mojave and fire yellow belly in this clutch.

brhaco Jul 04, 2008 09:34 PM

you're right Randy-I misread the OP. I'm willing to bet that female is a real Fire, and that light snake might well be a Fire mojave! How cool is that?

The female is a fire, male a mojave so it is a mojave fire, but I don't see anything more in it.

MATTI1919 Jul 05, 2008 02:46 AM

Great clutch!
Awesome babies!

George, I believe that female might be a wee bit more than a "Fire Type". I think she's the real deal based on the look of those babies. Regardless of what she is, congrats on some great lookin' babies!

I think mom is either a Fire or a Sulfur (either of which are codom hypos).. I wonder what David an Eric would think as they each have hatched Sulfurs and Mojave Sulfur crosses already , they would have a GOOD idea if they look like Sulfur YB's or Sulfur Mojaves.. I actually think the Sulfur may very well be yet another form of Fire too, so the Super Sulfur may be a black eyed white snake in my opinion, time will tell... Anthony McCain..

Eric Sandoval Jul 05, 2008 02:05 PM

Congrats on the new babies. They both look very similar to the Sulfur Mojaves and Sulfur YBs. Like Anthony said I wouldn't be surprised if the Super Sulfur is a black eyed lucy. Should know for sure in 14 or 80 days.
