Variations of color in elevation

Do any of you herpers ever find a darker or lighter vriation in color of snakes in elevation differences?
i have found that in wandering garters any others?

Black Milksnakes are a high elevation form found in the mts of southern Central America. The lowland forms in that part of central america are tricolors.
