Andy, I just picked out my first baby blood based on the parents. Everyone said to buy a baby that had very red parents to insure that color---I also chose one of the babies from the litter that already seemed to have the most red as a hatchling. We'll see if that holds up as she grows!
Like you, I would love to see a progression of photos showing how a young blood changed in color as it grew to adulthood. However, since each snake is unique, that doesn't mean such a progression would hold true for another blood!
There's a certain amount of color risk no matter what blood baby you pick. As others have said, the only way to guarantee adult color is to buy an adult!
>>I am new to the whole blood thing... There is much debate about how to pick a neonate blood python in order to get that screaming red adult color. I would love to see some pics of "before and after" pics/ color progression pics as a young blood gains its adult color. I would even like to see pics of ones that you thought were going to be awesome and turned out brown or yellow.
>>Thanks in advance,
>>Andy
