July 6th field outing

Joe_M Jul 07, 2008 06:49 AM

I was able to get out for about an hour yesterday morning with my little herp partner. We saw a good variety in a little time walking and flipping and old railroad bed in central Massachusetts.

young eastern milk

Sorry OT, but this was my 4 year olds first redbelly.

We also saw 2 Easter garters, 1 Northern brown, and a nice adult spotted salamander.

Joe, what?? NO ALBINO?? LOL, if you try keeping milks for any time you will likely run into the problems we have talked about...and they will humble you!! Keep up that good work and hope to see you this weekend! Jeff

I'm just glad to be finding anything! I went through months with no luck at all. In the past few weeks we've found five different types, including the female adult milk and this little one. Believe it or not this one took a small pink last night after shedding.

Good finds Joe. No matter what you keep in captivity...nothing beats field herping!!
