That is a very interesting Hypothesis, that's using your noggen!
I never thought of that, and yet people who have produced or own het PBs can usualy fairly easily identify them by the certain look they have.....very smart, and even more confusing haha!

Show me your Jellies Tom,heres a couple pics of the male i got from Rainer, still has me boggled

female

I really haven't a clue on any of this but my bottom line on most is that they are not as attractive as adults so may not hold their $$ no matter what they look like as hatchlings.

Mark,
Maybe the jellies don't oook that great to you but they are f=different.
I think what maks them special is what they will create when comnbined with other traits. We have already seen the PB gene crossed into the lavender (Peabino) and Peanut butter crossed into the anerythristic (Phantom) imagine what the T neg and especially the Jelly combined with other traits will do.
Adult Jelly female and adult Jelly male (in bowl)

Of the Pewter, Phantom, Peabino and Goldens.
The Pewter is my favoriote because of its picth black eyes and compleytely different look of anything in ANY morph of any spp of snake. Nothing comes close
The Goldens held theur reds. Unlike the hypos which lose the reds and trun yellow.
The Phantoms are getting more white and will be almost solid white as full grown adults
The Peabino is probably the most striking and what most would consider to be the most beautiful. It retained it dark bright oranges and has floresent lemon yellow tones.
I will be posting new pics in a week or two. I promise you will be surprised and none of you will be dissapointed.

WEEKS??? Keep it up and you will be working the pole for $1 bills!! Come on lets see em!
I remember at the NRBE in '01 Rainer was offering me one of his first PB's for trade. I wonder what could've been???? Just goes to show what a "great" business man I turned out to be, lol...
I think the PB is going to play a role with morphs, but I think the other combos Rainer has coming up like the phantom, golden pb and peabino will have colors or patterns in adulthood that will stand out more. I can't really get a visual of the pewter as an adult, that will be interesting. probably very pewter like, I suppose.
Hey Rainer, can you translate what your signature says?

Just the same ol' same ol'. No cutting edge here ya know.
Booooring....
Well I do hope the whole "morph" thing takes off and not like the BP where nearly all the trade is between the breeders.
I was hoping to elicit some reaction from Rainer with him posting some pix to refute my statements above..That way, we all win with some killer photos...
Maybe in a week or so like he said...

boring is good, for the most part.
i don't think people would want to have their morphs reach BP status. I think everybody has to understand their audience and market to it. BP customers generally aren't brooksi customers. If these guys look at the history of what brooksi morphs sell for and who buys them, they will do well, beyond buying and selling to their buddies.
After all these years --- 12-13 years maybe---hypos and axanthics are still popular it seems. I was breeding ghosts 8 years ago and they are still uncommon (is that good or bad?). I can't wait to see your male and what comes of your breeding plans for him. Even with all the colors jumping around, I still don't think guys can ignore a good wild type in breeding plans.
However if there ever was a "National Brooks King Expo", I would definitely go.

watch out, the brooksi police might show up and toss out all the central florida california mixed morphs masquerading as brooksi. better call it a Lamprocalidana X po
