like myself. Could you post a picture of a circus ball? How is it different from a clown. I would think it would have to be linked to the clown gene or you wouldn't have gotten clown babies from breeding it to a het clown. If it wasn't all the babies would just be "normal" looking and be 50% het clown 100% het circus. Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks in advance

OK ,
Can we say that the Circus Ball is a Clown NOW , and that you got extremely lucky not producing any normal looking hets in this clutch . I have always thought that the "Circus Ball " was just an abbarent Clown . Nice clutch regardless , grats

We can say the CIRCUS ball is het clown for sure. I am guessing he is just the best clown I have ever seen, but until I breed him to a daughter to see what comes out. I cannot say.
I completely agree. He has extremely nice looking aberrant line of clown ball python. Sorta like the BHB line looks a little different because they have almost patternless sides.
WOW that is one awesome looking clutch, got to love the head patterns on those gorgeous clowns

First of all I forgot to mention that those are great looking clowns.
How did you come upon this circus ball?
Did you produce it? If so from what?
Was it a wild caught import?
Was it captive hatched in Africa?
And what does it look like. I haven't heard of it (which doesn't mean anything) but I guess others have seen it, probably in previous posts.
It just sounds like a really cool looking morph and I would like to know more. I like clown balls a lot. Pastels like Casey's post are really impressive.
If you don't mind, and once again forgive my ignorance, but could you shed some light and maybe some pics.
Thanks

Do you own any of the newer ball python books? The Barkers, Kevin`s book? He is in there. I take it you are new to ball pythons. I suggest you purchase one. Not only are there great pictures, but a lot of history and great info. I hatched him myself in 2005.
To a thread on the Circus Ball from 2005.

Louis my friend you get an A+ in history!
John -- I think you know that the circus is one of my favorite animals -- no matter if it does turn out to be just a mixed up clown.
But I'd be interested to see what if anything would come if you bred that original mom to another pattern morph. Perhaps you have a mystery gene on your hands - you never know.
Congrats on a beautiful clutch!

Last year I bred her to the circus. I got eight babies. All normal looking, BUT all females. This year I went back and bred her to the het clown that made the circus. Nothing yet, but I may put a yellow belly in with her tomorrow. I have one that will bred a beer can if you let him.
You know, the more I look at that (amazing) thing, the more it reminds me of a carpet
They look like regular Clowns ...but the Circus is still different ... I guess you now need to breed these guys back to the Circus Ball to be sure there is nothing else going on ..have fun !
cheers, John
