Some Interesting Cal King Holdbacks

mheidka Jul 08, 2008 02:04 PM

I've been getting some really interesting animals from a 70/30 black and white banded Cal king male derived from Osborne lineage. Last year this male (first photo) produced an extremely reduced-black offspring (second photo). Although he started off cream-colored, he has been getting whiter with age and he has virtually no black coloration on his tail.

This season, when the same adult male was bred to a 70/30 Osborne female, he produced some more surprises. A reverse double dotted pattern (next 2 pics) and a highly reduced black banded animal (last 2 pics).

Ironically, all of these animals are males and I am now very male heavy. If anyone out there has a sub-adult to adult female of a similar type (preferable Osborne lineage) and wished to collaborate in a breeding loan, please contact me. I have other interesting Osborne males, as well, that will be ready to go next season.

Thanks for looking,
Maria

The very clean contrasty one that's spotted like a Dalmation is the one I like the most as well!,..although they're ALL pretty darn nice!

Beautiful Cal. kings. Love those head patterns, especially on the first one.
