Eggs dimpled??

dacherrypicker Jul 08, 2008 02:09 PM

After only two days of incubation my eggs are staerting ti dimple. Not much but a little bit. The humidity is as high as it gets. They have perlite mixed with vermiculite surounding them. Moist but not dripping. They are not sitting on substrate though. Should I put some substrate down underneath them or is a little bit of dimpeling expected?

Make sure the case they are in is completly sealed to keep the humidity in. I use press N seal, it works great. I just go in and look at them one a week to change out the air. Then with a couple weeks to go I loosen it a bit for more air exchange.

When I cut on day 55, I remove the wrap and put the sterlite lid on so they don't escape.

Good luck!

Eggs simply don't dimple on the second day of incubation if they're at a high enough humidity. I would double and triple check your situation.

have you candled them ?...do they have veins?...we had one with no veins that dimpled like 3 days later which is now toast...if those eggs aren't fertile that may be why they dimpled
