Weird movements

Lisabeth Jul 08, 2008 03:36 PM

Hi everyone,
I just purchased 2 baby bearded dragon and they are really sweet! I’m new to this specie and I like to observe their behavior. Yesterday, one of them made a funny thing with her/his (not sure yet about the sex) paws. I’ll try to explain it. She slowly (really slowly) put one of her paw up in the air, and slowly move it forward and put it down. Then, she did the same with the other paw, and after, she did it again with the other paw. She went like this for maybe 2 minutes. It really looks like if she was swimming in mid-air! I was wondering if somoene else have seen that with a bearded dragon and what does that mean.

Thank you very much,
Lisabeth

Arm Waving

It is said to be a gesture that tells other BD's that he is of the same species. Also considered to be a submissive gesture where a smaller BD arm waves to a larger animal in an attempt to stop a possible attack.
