Hi Everybody,
Today I went snakehunting with a buddy of mine. We went to my tin spot here in Charleston, SC. We didn't find anything but we did lay out some more junk from the same spot. We just laid out sheets of wood, a junker lawn mower, some tarps, and some other stuff. I really believe this spot will produce snakes in the future. We called it a day and he took me home. Later that day my dad dropped me off at another spot. Not a minute after I stepped out of the car, I found a cottonmouth slowly crawling into the weeds. I grabbed him with my tongs, he wriggled free, so I re-grabbed him. There were some rotten fish and a cooler. I put him in the cooler until I could pull myself together. I finally bagged him and just stood there wiping the sweat off my forehead. I kept at that spot, didn't find anything else but did locate a new spot to go to later. It has a lot of nice logs that provide shelter and a diverse variety of trees. There were pine trees with pine needles, fallen trees, hollow logs, all kinds of structures laying around to look for snakes. I had a blast. It isn't cleared out or developed either. There is a lot of habitat that I yet have to cover. I'll post pics later.
P.S. How do I get this copperhead picture off of every message I post?
Sincerely,
Drew
