Gus,
Is that a full-grown female? I'm trying to get a concept of the mature size of these guys - especially the gals... 'cause I want one bad!

Hi, that's a big snake, nearly eight feet long.. Full-grown? snakes grow as long as they are live and healthy so I'm unsure 'full-grown' can be used. That one is still growing. Anyway, the adult size of a boa has as much to do with how it's kept and fed as genetics.

Thanks and have a great day!

I know well enough that snakes don't stop growing. They do slow down a bit once mature - they just grow a lot more past that point than say a mammal would, as we do reach a point where we pretty much stop growing. I actually know quite a bit about growth curves. (I'm an Animal Science major at UIUC and a lifelong reptile addict)

What I was trying to ask though, is this pretty gal of yours - at around eight feet - about what you would call a mature size? Do you expect much more significant growth out of her? What would you say the typical size of your mature adult female BCCs are? (I know while I ask this that you have a whole lot more than the Pucallpa locality BCC)

Love the photos!! Thanks for sharing.

You know how I feel about this girl brother.
She is the epitome of a Peruvian.
Contrast color and everything.
Was this the one we were discussing a while
back, that you remarked on how she outgrew
her siblings?........JJ
