I have a new hatchling that is not eating yet. the only food i found for him was live pinkies where i live(i have a friend getting frozen for me tonight in indianapolis). i tried to feed him last night and it didnt work. i knew from all of the posts to not leave the pinky in but i didnt know what to do with it. i ended up throwing it in tupperware and putting it in the freezer this morning. will it be cool to try to feed with this pinky again in a few days or do i need to start from scratch. and should i be worried yet if the snake is not eating. the pet store said it hadnt ate there(had for 2 weeks) but could not guarantee it would eat for me. they have a 7 day health guarantee but i dont think that is long enough to decide to give up. any suggestions (besides not buying from pet stores)?

You lost me a little.
Did you try to feed it a live pinkie last night?
If so, why would you be afraid to leave it with the snake over night?
A little pinkie can not do any damage.
A hopper, weanling or adult mouse can do damage but a pinkie or fuzzy is safe.
OK, give the little guy a couple of more days and try again.
If you use the frozen pinkie make sure to thaw it out completely.
Get a deli cup and put the hatchling and the pinkie in it and leave them in a dark place for a few hours.
Check it. If it has eaten the pinkie..GREAT, if it hasn't eaten the pinkie then leave it over night. At this point you could try something that has worked for me. Take a pin and poke a hole in it's head, making sure to penetrate all the way into the brain.
Hopefully when you check in the moring it will have eaten the pinkie.
If this doesn't work get back with us and we will offer a few more suggestions.

If i had a written health garuantee i would take it back.If your just getting into snakes a nonfeeder is a bad start.The petshop said it hadnt eaten in two weeks?Did they even try to feed it?When i go to reptile swaps i look for a bulge in the tummy,that or i ask to see it feed.If they even hesitate they can forget my sale.I would go with a subadult/adult from one of the breeders here.There are always a couple for sale in the classifieds...Good Luck...Paul.
