Where did the shed go?

Homeslice31 Jul 09, 2008 01:25 PM

I have 2 boas about 6 weeks old. they both shed for me yesterday, but i went to clean out their cages and the shed was missing from one of the babies. Did it eat it? Has anyone else had this happen. I've kept boas before but never had this happen. thanks,

This may be a silly question, but did you see it shed? Otherwise I'm thinking it's just cleared up PRIOR to shedding. Outside of that, I've never had a boa eat a shed.

No I didn't see it actually shed. I did some quick web browsing and I think I jumped the gun on this one. I don't think it's actually shed yet. It's my first albino and I could have sworn it felt and looked shed. I'm gonna wait a few more days and see what happens. I'm not too far off on this one though. Bearded dragons do eat their shed skin.

I have actually had this happen to my boa, when she was just a month or two old. I also never saw her actually shed, but she came out of the blue, then a few days later it was obvious she had shed, but no skin?? I just thought this was normal at the time and never thought anything, but it turned out to be the only time this happened. Interesting to see its not just my boa.
