The size of the cage looks fine. You will probably want to do something else for a lid as your boas grow. They will rub their snouts raw on the wire mesh when they get big enough to reach it and push against it.
Best of luck!

What Mark said, plus it will be very difficult to keep the humidity high enough with that large mesh opening. I used to keep my snakes in screen-topped glass cages when I first started keeping them, but they are so terrible at holding heat and humidity (lots of bad sheds even with misting) that I ditched them for plastic cages.
Not saying that's what you have to do - my cages were much taller, the 12" height on yours is good. But, you might want to put some kind of plastic on the underside of the hardware mesh, to prevent snout injuries and to help hold in humidity.
Nice hide/decoration layout!

hey thanks for the input yea im having my girlfriends dad actually cut me a peice of safety glass to cover 3 1/2 of the 5 foot cage,is that too much do you think? i am going to completely cut the screen out for that 3 1/2 foot section and just use silicone to adhear the screen onto the glass for the last 1 1/2 feet i just wanted to use the metal screening so i could rest a heat lamp on to near it.I realized the whole glass idea when realizing, yeah its a beautiful tank and well suited for a boa,but how the hell do i keep the think heated lol.
any other ideas im willing to hear,is there a better substrate for them then the pine shavings? i just heard it was fine to use and is easy to maintain.
