breeding/hibernating

bukinara Sep 02, 2003 08:43 PM

hey. a quick question. in order to breed tegus, do they need to hibernate every year from birth? or is it possible to get a tegu that has lived indoors (warm all year round) to be induced into breeding mode by hibernating him for the first time (or two, or three...)? answers appreciated.
also, i've seen photos of red/blue crosses. are these the only crosses thus far? does anyone know if other hybridization has been attempted (successfully or not)? has anyone done hybridization on their own? what measures did you take to induce the pair to breed? thanks again!
