HI
I have been a reptile breeder for 12 years, mostly bearded dragons. A few years ago I got into ball pythons, this is my very first clutch of eggs so I am a newbie at what the normal is. I did a lot of research on breeding/egg laying and have kept them at 89 degrees with 90% humidity. I have always let them go to the dryer side instead of letting them go moldy with to much moisture and up to a week ago they were full and plump with only a couple of dimples. I am at day 56 with these eggs and am worried since they are so caved in. I know beardie eggs can do this right before hatching, but don't know about snake eggs. I candled them this morning but since the snake inside is so big and the egg has shrunk around them it was hard to see any movement, but one egg I did see some moving around, so I believe they are still alive. I have been reading some post where breeders of snakes cut the eggs early to help them along but being strictly beardie/gecko breeder that was always a huge no/no. I can understand that snakes are different and am asking advice if a novice should try this if they don't emerge soon with as much caving in as there is. I did mist the substrate when they started to do this and even today the substrate feels moist (not to damp). So any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much for any advice to a newbie.
