Nose Rubs?

KaylaBaxter Jul 11, 2008 09:35 PM

One of my females is starting to give herself a nose rub from pushing against her cage. She's in the same 4x2 cage that she was in before I got her, and she has no scars from past nose rubs, so I'm guessing this is a new thing for her. One of my males is doing the same thing, but it looks like he's done this before as he has a noticable bump on his nose. What can I be doing to prevent this? The stack of cages is in a low traffic area, so I can't think of anything that could be stressing them out, and as I've said, these are the same cages they've been in for years. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Kayla

in my experiences boas really only try to get out to look for food? how often are you feeding them? what are your temps?
I feed all my sub-adult boas a good sized meal every 7-10 days

This girl was bred this season, so she's eating a jumbo rat every seven days until she puts back a little weight. She is due to eat tomorrow, so that could be it.

Thanks,
Kayla
