Any one else do this

So this is a forum, and....

I think I may have a problem. For the last year I have been looking at monitors. I have bounced around from wanting an ackie to water to a croc to a blue tail to a argus to a flavi, so you get the point. Reading on each and seeing cost, cage size, and so on. Anyways I think I have an obsession. Until I really know what I want (I did figure that out, either a white throat or a tri of ackies) when I drive around to work I see mounds of dirt, and wonder is that good digging dirt, or big logs on the side of the road and wonder how that will look in the cage, how would I clean it. So, you can clearly see that there is issues and it eats at me each day. Does anyone else do the same thing.

hahah i do the same thing with the dirt. there's actually a place that sells dirt, stone and mulch by my house and every time i drive by it i wonder if they have anything worth using in my black throats cage.

Ha ha ha, yes, I do it constantly. Wait untill you actually get a monitor and start building and setting up cages. It gets even worse.

LoL- isn't that like choosing between a Bullmastiff, or three Chihuahuas?) Good luck with your choice! It sounds like you're putting a lot of thought into it, which has to be good.

I used to pick up branches and logs etc, until I found a really nice one that ended up having ants inside! They didn't come out till they were in the nice warm cage and I didn't like that too much, so am a bit more wary now. The ants did eventually disappear, but a few were found outside the cage!

I always use wood that ive pulled from the water. I live on a lake and when I want more wood hahaha I just go on a cruise in the boat and pull logs to the shore it works good and no ants or any other critters.

yes, i absolutely had the same problem. I couldnt choose which monitor i wanted, but after i got it. I was completely satisfied. I still look now and then, but my collection is sufficient. Once you can finally decide on a monitor, its much easier then on
