Regarding snakes in Monterey, CA

3bSnakes Jul 11, 2008 11:59 PM

Hello all!

I have searched and searched, but have found nothing saying I cannot bring my snakes to Monterey when I go there to live with my Navy wife while she attends school there. I want to be absolutely sure, though.
If anyone could tell me if there are any laws prohibiting any of the following, or know for a fact that there are none, please let me know:

Red Tail Boas
Ball Pythons
Burmese Pythons

(hence the name Boas, Balls, and Burms!)

Please put my mind at ease, and let me know what you know, in case I missed anything in all the legislation I have already read. It seems like we should be fine, I just want to be positive.

Thanks in advance,

~Jason

Check with the Monterey SPCA. They might know, since they're a fairly big organization and they do wildlife rehab (or at least they did when I was there in '93 at the Presidio).

I am not aware of any regs specific to Monterey, but all of those snakes are just fine in California.
