boa question

ryantholen Jul 12, 2008 12:21 PM

I was wondering if it was normal for a 4 foot boa to pee everyother day. I have 3 other boas that pee like once week and it seems odd to me that he pees so much.

There could be a kidney problem. Kidneys can be destroyed by power feeding. Kidneys can be damaged in humans from extremely high protein intake over a period of time long period usually. I believe the same thing basically occurs when over feeding a Boa it can damage kidneys. Sometimes kidneys can just be weak and have problems. You probably should try to collect some urea and take the Boa to the Herp Vet. I'm sure the vet should be able to extract and test the urea for problems. This is probably what I'd do if concerned. Others may have better suggestions.
