Red/orange box turtle saved from traffic

BlueKing Jul 13, 2008 12:03 PM

Thought I'd share a pic of a nice turtle recently saved from multiple cars.
Found this little guy right in the middle of Main street at the edge of town...
You all know the drill - with cars coming up behind me(Kids don't try this at home - this was done by semi-professional stuntman): Slammed on the brakes, bolted out of car, sprinted to turtle, snatched turtle, ran back to car, slammed on gas and avoided having angry motorists behind me along with a dead turtle on my conscience!
Being a kingsnake man myself, I was hoping to come across a nice snake today, but I thought this turtle was very nice too... His colors are very nice with an orange shell and legs that are bright pinkish-red.

wow that is a nice looking one, I'm hoping one of my male's will be that pretty when he is older and will look that nice. So what did or are going to do with him? If native to where you found him, letting him go in good habitat near where you found him would probably be the right thing to do, no doubt would require some will power for most.

I have always thought the Star Wars makeup artists stole the Sith face from an Eastern box turtle, lol! Great looking turtle! Tess
