Hi, I've been feeding baby balls for years and the stubborn babys seem to eat for me when I put a couple hide boxes in the cage. So it has places to hide when it is hunting the mouse hopper. Mouse hoppers seem to work best with stubborn eaters!(live) that is!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!! Bob

What type of enclosure do you keep him in?

good question---
If the snake is from a breeder- it was probably used to being in a tub.
I have had some serious problems switching babies from tubs to tanks... i'm all tubs now-- but I have a lot of people that want these morphs as display snakes.

just helped a friend get a spider ball used to a tank. We bought a 6qt shoe box tub-- put the lid on and used a hole saw and drilled a hole in the side of the tub--- put paper and a water dish in the tub and put the snake in the tub. There were hides in both the tub and tank- and another dish in the tank as well.

stayed in the tub for 4 weeks-- came out occasionally to explore- but went back to the tub. on week 2- the snake ate, and has eaten every week since. we're now on week 6 and we've been taking the tub out during the day and putting it back at nite. still eats. next week were going to try no tub... see how that goes...

just a thought... might try a tub if you're not using a tub...

Hey Rich
At this time she still only 14" so got her in 10"by14" rubbermade. So not to overwhelm her with to large of space. What do you think should I go larger?

That sounds like a 15 quart tub, if you got her from a breeder she was probably in a 6 quart tub in a rack system. I would put her in a 6 quart. They should have a basking area in the upper 80's, how are you heating? Also if it is in a high traffic area, say livingroom, that could be stressing it out.
