Eggs with large dents

jlotto22 Jul 13, 2008 04:16 PM

My ball python eggs have pretty good size dents on them. Are they still OK? They look great though the dents concern me. Will they change back to normal as the snakes develop? Am I in trouble? Please help me. My first time hatching.

How old are they?

Python eggs will usually buckle and dent as they get closer to hatching, as the baby absorbs the yolk.

I have 4 cluthes, two from the first week of June. June the 1st and June the 6th. The other two came later. One egg from the first two cluthes has visibly gone bad as it turned dard and ugly

They should be O.K. if they are ABOUT 5 week's old some of mine dent this early. Check out www.ballpython.ca in his breeding page it clearly states about 3 week's prior to hatching it is not abnormal for the egg's to dent. It is actually a good sign unless they have just been Laid.
Hope this help's
