Ouch! sorry to heard that Jeff. One way, the way I do it and seems easy to me, is open the picture in Microsoft Office Picture Manager, then select Picture, then select Resize, then on the right side there are several options for resizing, Pridifined wxh, Custom wxh, or percentage. I use the percentage a lot because it keeps proportions nice. Hope that helps, that is just one way there are many other programs, but most computers will have that Microsoft program.

It is possible that the hard drive in the zapped box is still okay. The shop you got a new computer from should be able to transplant the old box's hard drive into the new box to check it out. No guarantees, but salvaging the files is worth a try if there are no backups. Good luck.

For about $50 or so you should be able to by an external USB case for a hard drive, put your old hard drive in it, and maybe recover everything.

You need to know the interface of your old hard drive - it probably is PATA but it's possible it is SATA so that you can get an external drive enclosure that is appropriate.
