NEWEST PROJECT..WE'VE AQUIRED

herpsltd Jul 15, 2008 06:47 PM

a few Diamond Pythons and intend on maintaining them year round in large outdoor enclosures. As an experiment I kept my Cuban Boas outside the entire year and not only did they thrive but both females are gravid. I believe here in extreme S.E. FL. the same can be accomplished with Diamonds. Each enclosure is 8' x 4' x 6' tall. I have several enclosures to work with so we shall see what happens. I'm hoping for the best and of course they will be monitored for health issues.....TC

How do you contend with pests like fire ants?

While we have them thus far there's no problem. The only time I've ever had a problem was many years ago when I had a fair number of adult Galapagus Tortoises and I believe it was because of copius amounts of food being fed. Here's a few pics of other stuff were breeding outside with NO fire ant problems.....TC
