A first for me

Jeremy Pierce Jul 15, 2008 08:20 PM

I checked my black pine eggs tonight and a couple were out! This is the first time I have bred black pines. They were so dark that I couldn't see them through the side of the egg box! Needless to say I am very happy with the first two out. Three to go! Take care all.

Way to go Jeremy!
Man, are they that black all the way down?
That is shiny black.
More pics when they hatch please.

I will absolutely post more when they are all out. There is VERY little about these that isn't black. We'll see what they look like after they shed as well. For now I am incredibly happy!

Wow!!! that's the closest to solid black baby I've ever seen.

Do they have any pattern down the tail?

Jeremy

Jeremy Pierce Jul 16, 2008 12:10 PM

The other three had their heads poking out this morning but the first two out have very little. Like I said earlier, we'll see what they look like after the shed, but I agree with you. These are the best I've seen as well. Needless to say I'm pretty happy! Thanks Jeremy and take care.

Awesome...Congrats.

What little pattern those babies have should disappear by the first year. They have not begun to get black as they do.

Babies like those sell above market value!!

Your adults have the genes to make a solid black snake, sell a few of those babies instead of holding them back and everyone will want your black pines in the future!!!

Just beautiful!!
