luncai Sep 03, 2003 12:30 AM

what other medication can I use other than panacur? I cant get panacur here and I cant ship legally here legally. What other alternative medication can I use? Can common deworming medications for cats and dogs be used?

I am from Singapore. Its illegal to keep exotic pets here so I definitely can't go to a vet.

Well scratch info I said about a vet, unless you know of one you can trust. In Singapore they'll probably cane you or something. However what I said about panacur still holds...try looking for SafeGuard- this is used for horses. It is a paste form, but with a lack of other options, you'll have to make do I guess. But don't buy any old dewormer for cats and dogs...many are very dangerous or toxic to reptiles.

In fact many of those are fatal to reptiles. You need panacur. Go to a vet. Get fecal. Get a prescription if panacur is needed. Ask your vet for enough to use in the future if needed. Keep in fridge.

Panacur is also sold under the name Safeguard, but I believe that is in the paste form, leos are generally administered with liquid suspension.

herpsupplies.com does international orders and so does big apple herp (but they have a 250.00 min order)... but herpsupplies carries panancur in a paste form for 8.00 and you can e-mail them or call them for there shipping rates.. just an idea.. i know there is others that do intl shipments too.. but can't remember...good luck

a little pricy but for intl air mail it is 20.00 plus 4 dollars for every pound.. but seeing that they are selling the panacur for 8 dollars (whereas i have seen it for upwards of 20.00 dollars) it isn't a bad deal if it gets their quickly and your in a bind...it might not be so bad
