Hello everyone i am a ball python keeper, im used to keeping rack type setups and havent had a display set up for years besides my oscar fish tank. Anyway i have had my atb setup going for about 5 days, and he arrived this morning. I decided not go with a tub setup for him so i have him in a glass exo terra cage with the front opening doors, its about 18 inches tall and 12 wide. With a exo terra compact hood and a 15w day bulb on a helix t stat. The temp as suggested from someone on another forum should be between 80-85 up top and obviously cooler toward the bottom. So with my temp gun i have him at 82 at the moment with an ambient temp of about 77 toward the bottom. I have have sphagnum moss covering the cage floor and a tupperware for water the surface area is wide for extra humidity. I have an accurite in there too. Humidity is about 92%. How does everything sound so far. I will get a pic up when i get home from work. Any suggestions or tips for this guy would be appreciated.

Sorry no one replied for you. The setup sounds fine as long as the humidity can drop each day. Babies can be kept at a higher constant humdity of around 80% but the adults should have a period where the cage dries out each day to around 60% or so. As long as the openess of the cage doesn't stress your animal, then sounds like it's fine.
