which worm size is best?

trex8692 Jul 16, 2008 04:08 PM

im thinking about getting some phoenix worms for my leo to try when he arrives. in case they dont appeal, i already have mealworms in my supply. but im troubled by the fact taht i dont know which size i should be getting so taht itll be big/small enough to fit the leo.

8mm, approx 5/16"
12mm, approx 7/16"
18mm, approx 3/4"

the leo i plan on getting will be a young one probably a juvenile/baby.

A leo at that size can probably handle large Phoenix worms. I have read of breeders feeding their juvies 1 inch mealworms!

My leos like them large. Heck, if an adult leo can chomp down a superworm, he'll be fine with Phoenix Worms.

do you think i should get the medium size so they should last longer?

You could try, why not? Some leos are picky abotu size and if they think the critter is too small, will ignore it.

Try it!
