how big of a tank/cage

Well i need to know how big of a tank do i need for a burmese/ Reticulated Python?

General rule that we use...

Half the length of the snake--- is the length of the snake.

1/4 of the length of snake is width

Height is adjusted proportional to length/width.

12 foot snake = cage 6 foot long, 3 foot wide, 3 foot tall...

Beth, I think you meant tank.

My 12 footer is in a 6x3x3 and I wouldn't him in anything smaller, personal choice. Here in FL, the legal minimum is an enclosure perimeter equal to the length of the snake, but the width shall not be required to be more than 3'. That means that I *could* put him in the 4x2 that my boa lives in, but he would certainly be cramped!
