Yet another off topic thread.

My wolf spider has finally been ID'd. It is within the genus Pardosa. Sadly, this means it won't get big like the wolf spiders of the genus Hogna.

I have seen very small wolf spiders in central jersey and some very large ones up north in Sussex county.

You should see the diving water spiders in jersey they get huge and now is the time to look for those really big spiders in those really big webs also. I forget their name some type of orb spider I think, but you really only notice the big ones in July/August. I thought they where called June spiders.

Yes I've seen six spotted fishing spiders at the lake by my house. And orb weavers are around my house and are starting to grow considerably. Just last night I saw one catch a click beetle in its web! Not interested in keeping though, because they only live a few months. Right now I'm trying to find some daring jumping spiders, you know those big black ones with iridescent chelicerae.
