Meet Fetish.. new RED red blood python *dialup warning*

Kestrel Sep 03, 2003 06:49 AM

Well I just got back from my field herpin trip in Arizona. Naturally I had to visit all of the herp shops, and my boyfriend being the awesome snake loving guy he is, bought me this girl. He after all was coming home with a new adult Hogg island boa. Only fair that I come home with something too. Anyhow, I went into one store and inquired about this girl.. One employee said the reptile guy wasn't in yet, and to come back later. So I did, and hunted down the herp person.. Chatted him up a bit.. Took out and handled the blood, impressed him by not getting tagged once as she is/was an angry biznatch, and got onto the subject of generally pissy snakes, which led to talk of retics.. And after a bit of collection discussion, turned out I knew this person through Kingsnake and nearly bought an adult female Jampea retic from him. LOL. Small world. The blood turned out to be his that he purchased from the Barkers about 5 years ago as a baby. And he sold her to us for a steal($139.60 to be exact . So moral of the story, I finally have myself a nice blood python in my group. She's a tad on the thin side, and small for her age at about 4ft, but oh well. She wolfed down 2 jumbo rats tonight so i'm not too terribly worried. And as usual, my camera really washed out her color. She's much more red then this, instead of the brown the camera made her look. Damn thing. You know how it is....

Your collection is getting bigger and bigger all the time. Done any photo shoots of your other stuff lately?

Gorgeous blood! But your right she is pretty skinny, though I'm sure she won't be for long!

Mind if I save a couple of those? Mostly just for me, but might print them out if I start doing shows for schools again. Also, on your animal list you mantioned your leopard geckos-do you still have that rainwater albino you bought a couple years ago(just before you lost your Jampea-Sebastian wasn't it?)
I think you sent me a pic of that gecko the day you got it, when we were still trying to figure out what the problem was with the snake. Just wondered how that one was doing if you still had it.

nope not at all.. go right ahead.. Be assured i'll be taking more, and better quality pics when she sheds. hehe.. Yep I still have the rainwater PA, named Desslok... Hard to believe he was ever as tiny as he was when I brought em home. All the leos I had at that point in time are the ones I still have.. Still hangin around.
