No, Translucents do not have to have black eyes. You can have trans with black eyes that are very see through and you can have trans that have normals eyes and that are very hard to tell if they are translucent. Both of the fore mentioned dragons will have the same genotype in regards to Translucence.

The origional ones all had dark eyes. Occasionally, I'll have a trans that ends up with normal eyes as an adult. It's usually always with the trans het hypos. Most of the time the eyes will change over at some point(around 6-14 inches), and takes about 24 hours for the whole process. I bred a few trans with normal eyes over the years and they will still produce mostly dark eyed trans babies. Josh
