In the albino gene?

chad-erin Jul 18, 2008 09:43 PM

Is there some thing in the albino gene that makes them more mean? I know that sounds funny but I had an albino and now a sunglow that was and is evil. I have had this girl for about 2 months now and I take her out about 2-3 times a week to work with her but with no luck. She bit my husband 5 times today in 30 min. I have had snakes that were mean before but none as evil as these 2 girls. Has anyone noticed albinos and albino morphs to be any more aggressive and is there any other tips to help me maybe tame this girl down even a little bit. Thanks in advance for any help.
Erin

My albino het snow is one of my best boas. He has never even hissed. He acts like a nice BP. Good thing, because my pastel is a nervous little biter. How old is your albino? If he/she is young then it will probably grow out of it.

I've heard that the stripe line is aggresive , but I have no experience with them. I have three Albinos , and they are all super mellow, so I don't think that it's coming from the Albino gene.

She is not from the stripeline but does have a stripe on her tail if that matters. If it isn't an albino thing could it be a female thing lol? Although that can't be completley true because we had a 6' female that I would allow my 2 year old son sit with. She will be 1 next month and she seems like she is getting worse rather than better. Any tips and tricks would be helpful. You can see some pics of her in my photo bucket. Hopefully the links work.

I have 2.1 Kahl Albino Boas. The two males are nice . The fem is a bit touchy, she can have moods.

i HERAD A WHILE BACK THAT ALBINOS HAVE WORSE VISION... MAYBE THAT MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT, BUT AGGRESSION IS PRETTY MUCH A SNAKE TO SNAKE THING. yOU COULD TRY THE SHIRT TRICK (GIVE THEM A SHIRT WITH YOUR SMELL ON IT) OR YOU COULD TRY PUT HER IN A BAG AND CARRY HER AROUND FOR A WHILE BEFORE HANDLING HER. hOPEFULLY YOU'LL FIND SOMETHING THAT WORKS...
