Does it really matter what sex you introduce in you are breeding retics? I always read that you have to introduce the female to the male's cage, is this true and if it is then why?
I have done it, and seen it done both ways. Both ways sork, so your are left with what's easier and safer.
The female scent is stronger in her cage and seems to demand a greater response from the male. Males may be territorial and breeding aggression could highten the odds of him biting the female if she is in his cage, especially if she just came from another male's cage.
Females are also larger, and often harder to move.
For these reasons, I suggest placing males into female cages.
