Ok i have a snake that i have had for about 7yrs now
was bought as a pair with a female as a guaranteed male found out this weekend my male is female but he or should i say she has been kept small for breeding way smaller than a female of the same age she is 8yrs old now and 4.5 to 5ft my question is because shes been kept small does anyone know if this has affected her ability to breed here is a couple of pics she is in an animal plastic 41qt tub if that helps to get a size on her

She has a great tall muscular build and looks really healthy. I like Boas to look this way. I'd up her feeding schedule slightly and I'd bet by october you'd have a healthy breedable fem. She might be breedable as is.

wont cause a problem her being only 4.5 to 5 ft at max
for her to breed?

If she's 5 feet she'll probably be able to breed at her age. With a little added feeding schedule she might gain some length as well. A bigger longer enclosure would probably help her stretch a little too.

personally i would rather breed a smaller female that 5 years then a larger 3-4 year old female. a lot of boas i see in pet shops are over weight in my view and have to be slimmed done before they breed will. age and good muscle tone are what i look for in a breeder female. I got a litter of 26 healthy babies, no slugs and 1 still from a 7 year old female that was only 4.5 feet and about 9 lbs. given her age i wouldn't think twice about breeding her. also she could have some CA blood in her and they are smaller boas as while. some of the dwarf nics and local boas have had healthy litter at 36 inches.

thanks i might just keep her then was worried that being kept so small might of effected her for breeding
