Egg-like mystery object found in cage ??

violetmarlow Jul 19, 2008 07:59 PM

So I went poking around in my snakes' cage today, and when I went to pick the two girls up, underneath both of them was a hard, cylindrical, egg-looking thing--a yellowish, orangish color, kind of whitish at the tip. I broke it apart and it almost looked like a heath bar type texture in the middle. They are still so young, both about a year and a half and still on the smaller side, I wouldn't think they would lay so early, or do they?
Any idea what it could possibly be otherwise?

Sounds like an infertile egg to me.
They sometimes decide they want to lay eggs at rather small sizes, even without a male to fertilize them.

Yes,....it's an infertile egg....it's just one of those things that can happen from time to time, even without a male ever being introduced.

Is there anything special they need to have done because they are doing this? Any diet supplement or anything? Extra calcium? It worries me because they're so small...
I looked in their cage again yesterday and found another one, looking identical to the first.
