Lav. Albinos - great odds!

DavidGreen Jul 19, 2008 08:47 PM

Last year I bred my lavender male with several 50% possbile het females but didn't produce any eggs, the females were young so I was looking forward to this year.

This year, I bred the male with six 50% possible het females, four of these females laid eggs. The first litter hatched...three lavs and four hets! I was excited to say the least. Well, the second and third litters are hatching now and both contain lavender albinos!!

I purchased the possible hets from Steve Roussis. I also proved out one of his 66% possible het female pieds. It looks Steve's possible hets are as good as hets, lol!

There are going to be A LOT of lavenders, hets and pos hets this year. Congrats on your luck. Send Steve a nice X-mas card this year!
