Paradox Anrey?

wmcandrew Jul 19, 2008 09:06 PM

Is there such thing as a paradox anrey? Mine has these small red flecks on the tips of some scales. He has about 8-10 of these markings down his body.

Yes,...I have seen a few anerythristic Hondurans with flecks of red on their scales just like that before, but it really isn't anything to get too excited about, unless you had one with big patches on it, and it was genetically inheritable.

It is weird though, I'll admit!

Yeah, that sort of thing happens. I've seen it with lucy Texas Rats as well as other snakes that aren't "supposed" to have any red. It's usually not there upon hatching, but tends to develop over time. You might notice a few additional spots in the future, but they tend to stay small.

That's a cool looking anery. Pretty colorful. Is that one of this years?

And here's a picture of a leucistic Texas rat that shows the red/black scales that Tim mentioned. My female is very tame and pure white - this male ( with the black scales) is pure evil. I think thats why he is marked - so I know where he is all the time!

Hey Steve,

That anery is a year old. I'm working on breeding "high black" anerys and "high white" albino Hondurans.

I've heard tales of folklore about those dots actually migrating closer together over time on those Texas Rats to form the evil number "13"!..LOL!

Sort of like the movie Damian was in!
Yes,..mine are also products sent straight from the bowels of hell!,...only without the dots!

We are working with a line that has produced a bit more than a scale here or there. This girl is currently gravid and the male is from the same line, so we hope that she gives us a good clutch and some answers.
